My First Blog

This is my first blog as a new member of blogger.com. Currently in C&J 475, which I have set up my first blog for, I am learning more about both the importance and advantages of blogging and how it could become something I include in my resume one day, if I choose to make it more professional based. So since I am a senior here at the University of New Mexico, I am really taking that into consideration...However, I am still debating on what topics or issues I will write about. But I figured that for now I would talk about some of the changes that journalism is undergoing and some of my thoughts on it. With journalism becoming more "multi-media" it is important to keep these things in mind. Therefore one of the pros about these changes is that the news can be shared worldwide over the internet, the only bad thing is, less people are reading the printed copies. And although there is more technology to help make things "better," there is just one problem...not enough journalism students are being prepared for this advancement, and with the journalism field being as competitive as it is, that needs to be made a priority. If a journalist has to "do it all," that also leaves less jobs for everyone else...and with the way the economy is right now, it's not going to be easy for graduating students like myself to find a job, which makes me very concerned.
